Mark B. LarocheMARK B. LAROCHE, is President and CEO of Canada Lands Company.

Prior to arriving at Canada Lands Company, Mr. Laroche served for six years as the first Chief Administrative Officer of the City of Gatineau and, with the cooperation of his management team, was able to meet the many challenges of amalgamating six organizations.

At the beginning of his career, Mr. Laroche worked as a project officer for 1 Construction Engineering Unit of the Canadian Forces in Winnipeg.  He then held several positions for the municipalities of Aylmer, QC, and Brossard, QC, in the Public works and Engineering departments.  While in Brossard, he was promoted to Chief Administrative Officer – a position he held for five years.

In 2003, Mr. Laroche was elected to the board of the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators (CAMA), and then in 2005 was elected to be its president.  He has also been a Cabinet Member of the United Way in the Outaouais region for two years. 

In 2003-2004, Mr. Laroche served as a member of the board of directors, and chair of the audit committee of the “Centre Hospitalier des Vallées de l’Outaouais”, stemming from the amalgamation of hospitals in Hull and Gatineau.

Mr. Laroche holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Concordia University, as well as a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the Royal Military College of Canada.
