The Access to Information Act provides Canadian citizens and residents, as well as corporations in Canada, with a right to request access to records of the federal government that are not of a personal nature or exempted or excluded from disclosure. The Privacy Act provides Canadian citizens and permanent residents a right of access to personal information held about them by federal government institutions. The Access to Information and Privacy Coordinator of Canada Lands Company is responsible for receiving and responding to requests submitted under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.
To make an Access to Information Request: Please print and complete the form available online. Alternatively, you may submit a written request by letter: stating that you are making a request under the Access to Information Act; describing the records you want to access (be as specific as possible); indicating whether you want photocopies of documents or if you prefer to view the records at our offices; providing your full name, telephone number and full address; and including your signature and the date. Each request must be accompanied by a $5.00 application fee payable by cheque or money order to Canada Lands Company.
